Bolt in side of oil pump?

I'm replacing the oil pump in my '68 2000. The pump I'm removing has a bolt threaded into the side of the pump (see picture). The replacement pump has a threaded hole, but no bolt. Do I need to put a bolt in that hole? What is the purpose? Thanks.

My guess it is there to hold the pressure relive valve in place. So I would remove and install the bolt and washer on the new pump.
