Seems like top dollar for a 6600 Blue Power Special. Looks nice, but does it look like the LH front axle is missing? So much for the FWD working!

A good one would probably bring that - or more - around here. But I think you're right - there doesn't appear to be a shaft/u-joint on the left side.

1981 was the last year for 6600 the ser# is 1980

Maybe the price isn't too bad if the FWD worked, but that could be a tough fix. I believe they only used that offset drive axle for a year or so on the Blue Power Specials so that may be a tough part to find. If it is like my neighbor's John Deere, the axle was removed because the planetary was blown in the wheel!

Indeed, the axle is missing. You may be able to find the parts... but I wouldn't hold my breath. If you want to look... probably go through an get the Ford numbers for them, then google the part numbers. There's some aftermarket that may respond to a google search...
Also, 1981 was the last year for those tractors so it's certainly not an 82.
