Lift Arms/Control Lever

I have a model 841 diesel that I use mostly to pull a NH compact 65 baler.

I had not used it since last October but recently tried to hook up a bush hog. The lift arms were down and would not move and the control lever was difficult to move...it used to move freely.

I recalled when I was unhooking the baler last year I had the rope to the tongue latch carelessly looped over the control lever...which caught as I started to drive away. So I think the problem may be related to that incident.

I have scanned through the information and pictures in FO-20 but still uncertain where to start. Suggestions?

Thanks!
Rich

Sounds like you bent something........maybe quadrant/tube assy , maybe control shaft. Surprised that it didn't break the aluminum or pot metal friction disk. Take the nut off end of shaft, remove al friction disk, take the 4 quadrant bolts out and see in quadrant/tube will rotate & slide off control shaft.

P.S. Could have been worse........could have had rope looped around body parts!

Thanks Jmor and Minero9! I have a plan now:) I will
disassemble quandrant, position control shaft etc.
tomorrow.

hat potmetal or aluminun disk will likely be corroded to shaft, so take care not to break or heat it so much as to melt it..........not like iron, it gives little warning of a drip on the floor.
