Repainting Question/Your Preference - 841S

So, haven't been on here in a while, because the 841S is quietly doing her job and not causing me any trouble. As many of you know, I inherited this tractor back in March from my deceased grandfather, and I spent a great deal of time and fortune getting her ready for the first cutting of hay:

I made that deadline, and she performed well! Had a get-together for the 4th of July, and took the family on a wagon ride with Papaw's old tractor. This brings up my question:

A re-paint is in this tractor's future, when time and money allow. It's currently blue all over, with indications peeling off of its red past. I've seen how they looked originally, with the white sheet metal, red stripe down the top, red grille, and red body. It's that more orange-red, as opposed to 8N red. The original Ford paint scheme for the 801 looks very sharp, in my opinion.

I barely remember my Papaw, which means I don't have many direct memories tied to this tractor (although I've really felt closer to him since I started working ON it and WORKING on it). But, there are a lot of memories in this tractor, and it means a lot to a lot of people. I've seen re-paints using Ford blue in place of all the red I mentioned above, which also looks pretty good, but is not original.

All the memories and family feelings aside, which do you all prefer? The original red/white scheme, or the modified blue/white scheme? Or something else? Maybe she'd look good in green and yellow?

It's great that you got the old girl working again, your Grandad would be happy about that.
As to the paint color, and this is just my opinion, the red and gray original scheme looks best. Also, if you decide to go with that, get the paint from your New Holland dealer as the colors are correct for x01 although expensive but good quality. It is available in spray cans and quarts. Make sure the cans say "39/62" on them.
I've been working on repainting the red on my tractor (see photo).-Will

I have two 901s. I like the red and gray. You are correct about the orange-red, but be sure you use the "58-64" gray and not the later white or earlier darker gray. What you really need to do is get a four cylinder 4000 to paint blue and gray then you don't have to choose.

your machine so paint it how you like. I usually paint them per color scheme. ie. red/white for an 01 bs blue for the 000

Same issue here...what to paint my 861. Not going for show.

My Jube has the TiscoTP240 gray and (I think) the TP480 red.

For the 861: How does the TP245 gray compare to the TP240 gray? How does the TP310(Bright Red) or TP115(Dearborn red) look compared to the TP480?

Will, I like those colors. But I will probably stick with the Tisco paint because I am familiar with it.
