Ford 4000 Power steering modification?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has put an aftermarket powersteering kit on a 1974 4000 with a Ford safety cab?

I think it would require modification as the Sparex/Agriline power steering kits bolt onto the 2 holes on the l/h side of the bellhousing - where my cab support bolts on.

Anyone fitted one and/or had it modified to fit?

Thanks,
David

Is this a standard ag model 4000 or an SU model?
I thought by 74 they all had PS but maybe not.
If you want PS I would go with early Ford side arm style unit. Simple, reliable, and does not use those holes in the tranny.
Am on my phone so can t post a photo of one.
Maybe others can.

Hi, its a Basildon built 4000 UK spec. It has a single arm steering box, it has a loader on it so should have bought an example with power steering!

Thanks

If I can do this from a blasted Ipad...
Here is a photo of the early style ps..
it uses a standard non ps steering box and just ataches between the box and front axle.
