Ford 3000 Clutch Shaft Leaking

As the title states, my clutch shaft is leaking. I've never been into this part of the tractor before, and I couldn't find anywhere in my factory service manual that described it.
What I need is some information on what parts I need and how to do the repair. Any help appreciated!

If by "clutch shaft" you mean the shaft that goes through the clutch housing that is actuated by the clutch pedal, then you have a large fluid leak inside the clutch housing. It is most likely trans fluid caused by a leaking trans input shaft seal. If it were engine oil, you'd likely also be telling us how much oil this thing was using.

Tractor needs to be split to repair leak. Also, confirm your leak first by loosening the jiggle pin on the bottom of the clutch housing. If the pin is gone, shove something into the hole to open it up.

No, I mean the shaft the clutch pedal pivots on. The one that appears to go through to the other side and has the brake pedal attached on that side.

Shaft in question is commonly referred to as the brake cross shaft, which is why I was confused.

Seal #31 is leaking. Usually this shaft comes out the LH side, making it somewhat labor intensive when you have a close tire and/or loader frame in the way.

Basically, all you do is drain the rear axle oil, remove parts on RH side, and pull shaft out the LH side. Sleeve 54A is where your clutch pedal pivots. This sleeve is for SOS trans models without a clutch pedal.

Replace seal #31 on both sides while you have it apart.

To add to that I install the left hand side seal and install the shaft then slid the right hand side seal over the shaft and drive it home...

(quoted from post at 08:21:29 07/01/14) Thanks for the information. How would I go about finding out the part number for that seal?

Here's a link to the New Holland parts site diagram for the 3000 brakes:

The seal, part labelled as #31 in the diagram shows as being part number 83924047.

partspring.com sells them as a pair for $10.00:

Okay, I think I found the part number. Now my question is, while I'm taking this all apart to replace these two seals, should I be replacing anything else, like the dust seal or bushings, or anything else other than possibly the shaft itself?

Thanks to all. I have to replace the clutch pedal bushings on our '65 and the whole shaft has to come out to do it - later models apparently had a design change and everything can be done without pulling the shaft. Had wondered if there were inside-the-case parts that would fall off the shaft when I pull it through the case. Also hadn't thought about replacing these seals - good idea while I'm in there.

Thanks!
However, after cleaning and looking over the area
last night, I'm now not totally sure that's where
the leak is coming from. There is a round part
just above and in front of the shaft that looks
like it may be the part that is leaking. Again I
can't find anything about it in my manual (Seems
like every time I look at that manual it has
everything except what I need!). Anyone know what
that is and if it could be the cause of the leak?
I cleaned it and left it stationary, so I should
be able to tell where the leak is coming from when
I get home tonight. But I still need to know what
it is.

No, it looks more like a cover of some kind. Its
flat and round, and there are some other things
attached to it or near it.
