silly questions but 2nd guessing myself

3000 gas will start but not run for more the a few secs, classic carb float issue, gonna pull carb when i get home,
but for now fuel coming from weep hole at the bottom
now for the silly questions
#1 cyl. is closest to the fuel tank right?
if the tractor is 12 volt ground to ground the neg side of the coil goes to the distribitor right? plus side to the ignition switch.

and if anyone has anything on zennith carb adjustments etc.. for the 3000 i would love to have em thanks in advanced

#1 cylinder on 99% of engines in line that is is the front as in closest to the radiator.
If it is 12 volts - ground then the - side of the coil goes to the distributor. What ever ground is on an engine that is also the side of the coil that goes to the distributor
