PTO speed on Ford 7700

My operators manual for my Ford 7700 says that the tractor came with either a 540 PTO or a 540/1000 PTO (by exchanging the PTO drive shaft).
I bought the tractor used and no additional shaft
was provided and no information provided. Is there a way to determine if my tractor has the capability to use the 1000 shaft. I can probably
find the shaft, but do not want to purchase same
until I determine if it can be used in my tractor.

The bearing retainer for the PTO if it has bolts at 12 and 6 O clock and 2 and 10 you have a single speed. If there 2 on each side it is a 2 speed.

Ones with two speed PTO's have the shsft held in with a snap ring. It will have two 'ears' sticking out that you squeeze together to remove the snap ring, then pull the PTO shaft out.
Though they may be out there, I've never seen a 7700 with just a 540 PTO.
