Front hub seals

Quick question about the inner seal on the front hub on an x01-series machine. This is really dumb.

I could have sworn that a couple of months ago when I tore the machine down that the inner seal was a "radial" type seal. Meaning, the sealing surface was the ID of the seal, which was to the OD of the spindle.....and that OD is horizontal. And I "thought" that the seal had a spring in it to keep the ID squeezed down on the OD of the spindle, but I can't completely remember now.

So I got some new seals. IIRC they are part number 1190, but instead of a springed, radial seal, they have a thick square section of rubber, and they appear to be a "face" style seal. Meaning, the vertical outer rubber flat face of the seal would rub against the vertical inner-most area of the spindle. The ID of the seal is not even close to sealing on the OD of the spindle. Seems strange.

Am I just losing it here and got the wrong seal?

Thanks,
Kevin

Sounds like have NCA-1190-A. It goes with rubber out rubs on verticle part of spindle. Also have 202784 seal Has tite fit on horizontal part of spindle tapered part to inside of hub. Keeps dirt out/lets grease out if zert in hub.
