Got a request to change the trans oil in a Ford 2000,Can I use the IHcase product "HYTRAN" in this machine?
Have yet to actually see it, but I assume its a common transmission/hydraulic sump? First Ford for me, so I have to ask.....
Tks

There were 2 different Ford tractors that they called a 2000 model. An earlier one, from 1961 to 1964, which had a 4 cylinder engine, and a later one made from 1965-1975 that had a 3 cylinder engine. Both models were offered with a number of different transmissions. The earlier ones were available with a 4 speed and 5 speed manual trans and a Select-O-Speed power shifting transmission with 10 forward and 2 reverse gears. The later one was available with a 4, 6 or 8 speed manual trans or the Select-O-Speed, and the industrial variants of the later ones could have a 4x4 or 6x4 manual reverser or a 4x4 auto reverser with a torque converter.

Transmission was always a separate sump from the hydraulics in both the earlier and later models. In the earlier 4 cylinder model the hydraulic was also a separate sump from the rear axle, but the later 3 cylinder model shared a common sump between the hydraulics and rear axle, but the trans was still separate.

All of the manual transmissions could use either gear oil or UTF that meets the Ford/New Holland M2C134D specification. The S-O-S and power reverser needs the M2C134D.

Most UTF fluids avilable today say on the label that they meet the M2C134D specification, and I'm pretty sure that the IHCase HYTRAN does as well. Check the label to make sure and if it does then it should be fine.

tks for the info to both of you, i will see this
machine next week and post just what it is exactly,
3 cylinder diesel for sure.
and maybe more questions?
tks
