TECHOE or TECH HOE LOADER BACKHOE ???

Hey Guys , Just got back from a two week job up on the Vermont/Canada border and sitting at the shop is a new Definitely Odd Ball 4x4 Project that I have never heard of and so far can't find any info on . The owner says it is a Techoe or Tech Hoe ? sort of like the old Dyna-Hoes but also has the look of an old Hough or Michigan of the late 60's or early 70's . It is the size of a Cat 922 Loader and has the same straight frame four wheel steering design it has a Detroit Diesel in it and has a 12 Foot Case Backhoe on it like from a 580 Case from the late 60's or early 70's . The strangest part is the driveline , it has NAPCO ( from the original Chevy and GMC Truck 4x4 conversions ) axles which are 2 1/2 Ton GMC Military just like on the Roadless conversions but with NAPCO built Planetary hubs . Owner has no books or Manuals and I have not been able to locate any info on the web so far . Anybody ever seen anything like this ? Thanks Tony Jacobs
 
Hey Tony, you have to know you have a real unusual one on your hands when you are looking for info on it! Can"t help you on it, but good luck with your information search. Does it run and drive?
 
Hello Andy , The Napco / Teco Crab sounds to be exactly what I have sitting here now if I can find one these guys from this old post and get some info I just may be able to get this beast up and steering again . Thanks Tony
 
Hello Kirk , Definately not a Bray if it was I would have sent it to the scrap yard where it belongs because it would be like trying to get parts for that worthless Aux. British transmission in the old 6500 Ford Loader Backhoes every single one is broken and there was never any parts around for them either . Thanks Tony
 
Hello Pat , Yes it runs, drives, and digs . It steers OK with the front axle but when you move the selector lever to steer both axle at once it feels like the hydraulics are fighting each other and you can't turn the steering wheel . I figured if I can find out how it was originally built then I can figure out what has been butchered up or what is missing from the system . Thanks Tony
