Swinging drawdar

I Just bought a Ford 3000. I'am trying to replace the missing drawbar. I have a new drawbar but I cant find a pin that holds the drawbar in place. I bought a universal drawbar pin and I can't figure out how to install it. Not enough room. Do I need to take swing bracket off the tractor to install the pin? The pin is 7/8" but they are all to long. This look simple but I don't get. If you can help I would appreciate the help. Any comments on side hill operation of the ford 3000.

lafordt,

You do not have to drop the bracket to install a new draw bar if
you have the right pin.

It's been a long time since I installed a new drawbar on my Ford
2000, but I'm thinking that I inserted the pin through the bottom of
the bracket, through the draw bar, through the top of the
bracket, and then pushed the hairpin clip onto the pin above the
top of the bracket.

If I'm wrong, I apologize, but I think that is right.

Our 960s have a pin that has 2 pegs through it, you push the
pin up from the bottom, turn 1/4 turn, and let it seat downward
a tiny bit.
