71 3cyl diesel.
its not coming from the rear end hydraulics because I drained them both today and hydro fluid is perfect.
Is the only way for water somewhere thru the top cover?
2 months ago. I replaced orings on shifters under the top cover, ran soundguys solution thru it, installed sound guys racquetballs on the shifter shafts and today the fluid is milky once again.
If the only way for water is thru the cover I suspect either where the neutral safety with goes thru the cover or a suspect low spot spot weld where someone spot welded one of the shifter brackets. I used silicone on both of the above 2 months ago but today I noticed the aftermarket spot weld is holding water.
My guess is I need to redo my silicone seal on the low spot weld and the neutral safety wire entry?

Condensation... it also doesn't take a lot of moisture to turn the oil milky.
Run it harder so it gets hot and evaporates the water out...

If condensation wouldn't hydro fluid be subject to that same issue? My hydro fluid looks perfect and has not been changed in 2 or 3 years while the tranny is milky after being changed 2 months ago.

Hydraulic oil usually gets hot enough to evaporate the moisture out. Not so much with the transmission...

how much water we talking. full on milkshake. or a hair cloudy?

if a hair cloudy, dump in a can of transtune/seafoam. or a couple bottles of heet.. or some more 90% alcohol.. then go run her cutting grass for an hour or 2..

if full on milkshake. that's alotta water...
