860 3 point... again

Think we found the problem with the three point not working, the safety valve has lost the check valve from inside of it. Is this just a small check ball or is it something special that we wouldn't have laying around in our bin of misc stuff?

The safety valve is a self contained screw in unit. I believe it is available from CNH only.

The check valve does have a ball. Note: the size of the ball changed during the model run. I do not recall the serial number break but it is in the Ford service manual and probably in the I & T manual as well.

Note also, that the service procedures recommend replacement of the earlier smaller ball and seat with the later larger ball and seat. If the seat in your tractor has been replaced before by a dealer (unlikely) it will likely have the later ball and seat regardless of what it had originally. The correct size ball must be used with the seat in your lift cover. Nothing special about the balls and such bearing balls are available from bearing suppliers but you will likely be required to buy a lot of 50 (?).

Individual balls of (I believe) either size are available from CNH.
