I have a 3400 been working on for a few weeks now. Getting close to having it back together and would like to change all fluids. All I have to go by is ford lubricant #s and need aftermarket equivelents.

Rear axle calls for m2c53-a or m2c77-a or m4864-a

Tranny m2c77-a or m4864-a

Power steering gear m2c28-ba orm2c94-a or m4864-b

The fluids for the rear axle(common sump with 3 point hydraulics) and the transmission have been superseded by the Ford/New Holland M2C134D specification.

For the steering gears, a Google search shows that m2c28-ba has been superseded by m2c105-a, which is something close to a 90W gear oil. If the steering gear box leaks at all, most folks replace the gear oil with EP-00 (aka cornhead) grease.

ditto what sean said. m2c134 spec utf fluid ( most all meet that spec )

and gear oil in a steer box with good seals. ( i usually go 85-140 ).. that or 0EP or 00EP grease.
