That screw goes through the case wall and into a bracket that holds suction tube in place. I found mine loose and leaking a little oil. Not knowing what it was for I started taking it out but thought it wiser to tighten it. You may be able to get it started if the tube didn't move but will have to take the cover off to get to it.

As Mike says...
If you removed it it's not a big deal.
To replace it you will need to remove the Left step plate and the round inspection cover.
Look in with a flashlight and you will see what needs to be done.
Then get a helper.
Reach in and hold the bracket and while your helper gets the screw started.
EZ fix but tough to do alone.

What inspection cover are you referring to? I meant the rear end cover (hyd. lift) when I said cover. Do you mean the cover with the PTO lever? He'd better drain the fluid first.

I couldn't remember if you can see what to do in there if it's full of oil but thought he'd figure that out.
Yes you can do it by removing the lift cover but it's Much easier to do it from the side if you have a helper to turn the screw while you reach in and hold the bracket in place.
