6700 A/C belt will not stay on at idle speed. Checked alignment and everything is straight. Is there supposed to be an idler pulley on there and if so can someone post a picture and mounting for it?

thought there might be an idler to take some of the slop out of the belt as this seems to be the problem. At idle speed the belt shakes something awful but after you speed it up it smoothes out

From the parts diagram:

[u:df1f9326c6]6700 Compressor assembly[/u:df1f9326c6]

It looks like the bracket that the compressor mounts to has slots where the bolts go through so you should be able to loosen the bolts and slide the compressor sideways on the bracket to take up the slack and then tighten the bolts back up. If it is already at the end of the adjustment then the belt is probably stretched and needs to be replaced.
