I have a 2000 ford with a 3 cylinder gas engine that has been ran without oil utill it locked up .where is the best place to find a rebuilt or a new crate engine

Any decent machine shop could rebuild that engine for you.
Grind the crank, sleeves, pistons, valves, etc.
Probably in the neighborhood of a couple grand.
I don't know if they even sell a crate gas engine.
I think you can still get them in diesel though for around $4K plus.

NewHolland dealer. They should be able to sell you a reman on an exchange program for your core. That said... your core may not be worth much at this point depending on how bad it is... so the reman may not be cheap. Personally, I'd rebuild it myself; mabey have the machine shop assemble the short block if you don't have the gear to do all of it yourself.

I found one used straight off the tractor on ebay for $650. No idea the condition but it is in Iowa.

Also one on Broken Tractor rebuilt in the range that Ultradog MN quoted. I think they are in Louisiana.
