Special tools needed?

Reading the FO-20 and 1965 shop manual...[b:dabb5731b5]will I need special tools to get the unloader valves out off my 861 hydraulic cylinder body?[/b:dabb5731b5] Have the lift cover off and am investigating a no lift with adequate pump pressure situation.

Good!

Had actually thought of the bolt "puller".

Wasn't sure if punch would work until one of the valves had been removed.

Didn't want to screw things up from lack of experience...

Do yourself a very big favor and buy the correct O ring from CNH for use on the unloader valve upon reassembly. Do not substitute.

Use a bolt and a slide hammer puller and bump the plug out. The hammer and punch work great until the one time you bend the unload valve. Then you will learn a few new words.

We have lift off...kinda!

Thanks to all who have offered advise and guidance. As predicted, it was the unloader valve. It had no "O" ring in the valve. I had picked up a CNH kit yesterday (only $10). Had all but one gasket, which was easy enough to make.

As luck would have it, as I got everything bolted up and started the 861, she ran out of gas. I had NO gas on hand to get her going again. But, the lift did appear to work on the starter alone. That's encouraging, right?

With an overhead chain hoist and with help from the good forum members, and with one done and the learning curve better, I'll tackle my Jube next. It lifts, but does the "bob" thing. Shouldn't be any harder?

Thanks folks!!!

Did finally get the 861 started again. Man the wiring is a mess!

Lift does work! I didn't have time to load it with something heavy to see how the lift performs. Only thing I noted was that the lift was "jittery". Likely because I didn't have her reved up much (carb needs rebuilding and fuel screens need cleaning). And maybe the pump could use rehab.

Thanks for the guidance!
