5000 rebuild...stumped

I just put the head back on, and the crankshaft wont turn ovee all the way. I can rotate back and forth almost a full stroke, then t comes to a dead stop both ways. Could this be because i used the wrong gasket? I used D3NN6051F, which is the thin one for my '65 model. Maybe someone in the past ground the head or block down? Did I do the timing wrong?
Here's pics of serial numbers.

If you only pulled off the head, no way the valve timing can be off. MOst likely you got a pushrod pinched and not centered between the lifter and the pushrod recess.. or you mixed up the push rods and one is longer.. or something to that effect...

Did you in anyway change the cam or timing gears?? or just pull the head?
