68 ford 3000 Clutch and electrical

Getting Ready to tear into my 68 ford 3000 and have a couple of quick ?s Looking to get the clutch kit, Will that take care of everything once I get it in half? or do I need to buy the throw out bearing and a separate clutch for the trans. or anything else separate? is there anything else I need to do while I have the tractor split? D

Next trying to figure out what wiring harness to get. its got an alt. in front. How would I get the RPM workin again?
The tractor is gas , 8 speed,
Thanks

Clutch assembly (kit) will have both PTO and trans clutches. Replacing the throwout bearing is a good idea - they aren't expensive, and you already have it split...
To get your tach working, you either need to go back to a generator with a tach drive (I wouldn't!) or upgrade your alternator to one with a tach drive. Not cheap. As yours is a '68, it's too early to be able to adapt to the x600 style drive. One other option would be to add an automotive type tach that reads RPM's from the ignition system. Been a long time since I put one in, so I don't remember exactly how it's wired.

Definitely do some things while in there. Change two bearings, one is the pilot bearing in the flywheel. Other is the input shaft bearing. Also do the freeze plugs while you have it split, and the crankshaft main seal if leaking. Main seal was a difficult to install on mine because I could not find a seal driver that big.
