Will It Fit my 841S?

I've been stalled recently in getting my 841S farm-ready. The threads on the front "axle hanger" where the axle pin screws in are worn completely away. A local used hanger is $125, so I was looking to re-work the one I've got by having the hole re-built and re-threaded. Turns out the threads on the axle pins are not standard, they're odd-ball (go figure).

My uncle came across most of the front-end of another Ford (?) at a local scrap metal yard. What he got at $.40/lb is the axle hanger, the middle section of the front axle, two radius rods, a tie rod, a bumper, and one complete right-hand axle (the part that bolts onto the middle axle section and houses the front wheel spindle, as well as the spindle, hub, and bolts). It looks identical to my front end, but the axle pin has a large hex-head bolt going through it with a nut on the other end, instead of the "pipe" that screws in with the "key" to hold it in place.

Everything looks like it will fit, and for $80, I'm going to try it (there doesn't seem to be any play in the axle pin), but I am wondering from what model tractor this front-end comes? I can post pictures when I get on my home computer, but everything is Ford red.

Also, the right-side (from the driver's perspective) "spindle housing" on my tractor is worn out pretty well. This front-end I found has one that seems to be in better shape, and looks identical. If I can use both the axle hanger, and right-hand axle section for $80, I think I've came out ahead for sure.

It sounds like the bolt being used to replace the hollow pin is a modification performed by a PO. The hollow pin allows the driveshaft for a front mount hydraulic pump to pass through it.
Pete Pfeiffer (Pfeiffer Sales) sells a kit that consists of 2 steel plates (one of them is threaded for the hollow pin to screw into) to weld into the axle hanger to restore the hanger to new condition. He sells them on Fleabay for about $95-$100. He recently raised the price from $90. Pfeiffer Sales is located in WI and you can probably buy the repair kit from him directly.

That's some very useful information, Texas! Thanks! If I can't get this new-to-me assembly to work, I may go that route.

If the mods the PO made work, I don't see anything wrong with going ahead and using them.
