Have a new engine 172 cu engine with the overbore kit and high compression pistons. Started to rebuild carb today and upon taking it apart I do not believe it is a TSX-706 as the brass tag states. The bowl is stamped 457 and the top 415. The internals as far as idle jet is pressed in. The nozzle is the adjustable jet type but there is no opening present in the bottom of the bowl for this type of jet. Am I completely off my rocker if so please let me know.

If not my other question is if I'm going to get a different carb should I go with a bigger one because of the engine mods. Will be installing the 2" exhaust already. Any other mods that will need to be done to linkage, air filter etc?

Thanks.

Lots of times guys replace the original carb with the one that is standard for the 801. The larger 801 manifold set will bolt right up too.
