baler model ID

Guy's need some help on this one, want to sell this baler and want to make sure I have the correct model also would like a aprox price she is worth, it is complete, I have got enough projects right now and thought if it was some thing a Ford man would want I should let it go in as is condition, thank you for any input on price, I think I saw a serial tag so I can confirm model if need be thanks again

That baler is a model 250 from the 1950's. As for value I agree with jmor. Its value is tied to its weight.

It may be worth a little more than scrap value to a collector of Ford implements.

thanks guys, sounds like it is not worth even listing I guess I will just haul it to the iron man, must not be many looking for a Ford baler, a Case one will bring 500-1800 easy depending on condition thanks again

I think it wants to be a Case, seeing how it blended right in, ford logo camo'd itself, paint color speaks for itself...... shhhhh.... no one will know its there. LOL !!!!!

That's older than the one we had for sure, was a 532 in blue, would be nice to see it with a ford collection instead of scrap, not sure about the 250, but like others, they did not win popularity contests + eventual scrap, unless the ford man in a cape swoops in and saves it LOL !!!

LOL Billy I too want to see it saved I am trying a couple other things, it can sit for a while yet, one thing about here it is not rusted out at all but it has spent it whole life outside

felt the same way about saving old equipment & sold it to a fellow that wanted to actually use it for very little more than scrap price. If he couldn't make it work for him, he would have lost very little. He has been baling with it!

Series 504 model 250. There should be a tag on it saying something like I4-80. That would identify the exact configuration. Just from the picture, I would say it is a Later I4-80. PTO driven twine tie and the auger is belt driven. May have rollers on the plunger. Early models were wood guides.

From the looks of the prairie, your way to far from me, I had one just like it and it was a great little baler. Many / most needed parts can be crossed to a NH and easy to work on. Worth way more than you will get for it IMHO.

You can tell, does not look like there is any heavy/pitting rust, it must be the drier air too, humidity tends to be a bit much around here, but older quality steel seems to hold up. I have an old IH #45 thats been outside since as long as I can recall, rusted beyond belief. We used to sell the 532 and same era ford balers, I've never seen any earlier series around here like this red one you have shown us here.
