My book on my ford tractor says for ford 600 and 800 series tractor There is a 800 series tractor emblem on the front of the tractor does anyone know if this tractor is a ford 801 also doe anyone know what type of fluid the power takeoff takes

tin and emblems mean little. they can get swapped.

check the model id on the trans, then sn to get an age idea.. then check block casting to see if that engine matches size and date range..

tin, tranny, engines.. etc. lotsa swaps in 50-60 -70 ys.. etc..

For sure what soundguy said. You really don't know what you have until you check (all) the numbers. Here is my shining example. It started out as a 641 diesel, got a 134 gas engine replacement, got late 800 sheet metal. It is a good running frankentractor that really doesn't look to bad. A lot of changes can be made in 55 years.

My favorite reference is John Smith's website here.
Without knowing what model tractor it is, it's hard to give advice
on fluids, but x00/x01 Fords are fine with M2C134D UTF AFAIK.

looks like a good worker!

I have a frankie as well. mostly a 950, but parts sewed on from 7-8 other tractors!

Hello Scott , Sorry you are wrong , That is 801 series sheet metal which completely different from 800 series sheet metal since they are both different tractors . The rear fenders between the two series are different as are the hood side panels the grille and the center section where the emblem bolts on . The real problem is most guys don"t know the difference between NAA"s , 600/800 , 601/801 , 2000/4000 so they don"t even know what they own especially if someone else switched parts around before they bought their tractors . Thanks Tony
