Popping noise out carb

I have a 57" fordson major diesel. I drove it all day yesterday
With no problems it ran great. Then this moring I went to start it and now is a loud popping noise coming out of carb. I also notice it had some oil leaking from the rear exhaust manifold but I had tighten those up and no more oil leak. But it still have that popping noise coming from the carb. Any suggestions..??

Unless you have a older IHC, the word carburetor and diesel would not go to together. But it does sound has though you have a intake valve stuck open

Pull the valve cover and check all rocker arms for correct clearance. You may have an exhaust too loose, rod off, or something broken. Engine will pop loud at the intake when an exhaust valve does not open, and the cylinder charge can't get out the exhaust, so the charge then pops back when the intake opens.
