Light knobs.

I have a mid 70's 231 diesel tractor that is running great.

The knob is missing for the light switch. Where can I get another one? I was thinking of getting one out of an old Ford car from the 60's, they are the screw in type, but I'm not sure if they will have the same thread.

If the knob is a screw-on type then I don't think the switch is original to the tractor. The original should have a smooth shaft for a knob that is held on by a small set screw. You can see what the switch looks like in this parts diagram:

Use the slide at the bottom of the picture to zoom in and then drag the picture around with your mouse to pan to the part of the zoomed in picture you're interested in. The light switch assembly is at the bottom of the picture:

The original switch assembly had a fuse up inside of it so if yours doesn't you might want to think about replacing it with one that does, or putting a fuse in line with it. If you want to use the switch that you have you should be able to take that switch out and take it to any automotive parts store to find a knob that will work.

I bought a new two position light switch from
Tractor Supply for my NAA. It allows me to turn on
my work light and dash light separate from the head
lights and tail light. $12.00 if I remember right.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about originality. There is a seperate light switch for the rotating amber light on the rops, so I might just put a new switch in, and run them both from the same switch.

Thanks for the tips.
