ford 650 carb to curved tube adaptor?

On a 650, how do you transition from the 2" dia. carb intake to the 1 5/8" o.d. curved tube that goes to the air cleaner? I mean, other than duct tape :)

I went to a parts store and I thought you could buy rubber radiator hose adaptors, but apparently not these days.

This tractor previously had a radiator hose kludged on there- now I have the proper metal tube, and need to adapt to the carb, and attach to the air cleaner (that is simpler- both are 1 5/8)

Thanks!

Not sure of you situation but the tube and the carburetor should be of the same diameter. No adaptor should be needed. By the dimensions given you may have a carburetor from a 861 with an after market manifold that has slotted carburetor mounting holes to except either carburetor

Well, it is a marvel-schebler carb. The engine is actually from an 800 series Ford- so it is a bit larger CID. Maybe the carb is larger as well.

As was said, they should be the same, but to make it work you
might want to check on a Fernco coupler at your local hardware store.
You might have to cut the pipe back a bit. Link

Sounds like you have the carburetor and/or engine from a late model 8/9** tractor. The later 8/9** 172 CI engines use a larger carburetor than do the early 172 CI and all 134 CI engines.

Install an air filter and inlet tube from a post 1957 172 CI engine.

The carb from and 800 should fit a 600.I'll bet the engine came from a 801.In either case you are going to have to look up an adaptor , maybe at the plumbing store.

all else fails. make a 'bushing' out of a rad tube ove rthe pipe.. that then fits inside the coupler from carb to air tube. clamp tight. .. WILL work.. a bandaid for sure.. but an ok bandaid.
