I have a factory snow bucket on the front of this little tractor and am thinking about a bale spike, will the front axle and spindles handle 800 to 1000 pound bales?
 
Yes, although it will shorten the life of some parts - you'll need to plan on at least replacing the pivot pin at some point. You'll also need adequate ballast in the rear, if you don't have it already.
 
Getting rid of the bucket would help.
Just have the spear attached to the loader arms.
I've seen big bales on the front of Hundreds before and the late 2000/2600s are built heavier than those.
