My problem is when lifting either my 6ft woods brush hog or my land pride finish mower, they want to hit the tread on the back tires. Does anyone make extensions for the lower lift arms? Or have any ideas how to solve this problem? What should the overall length of the lower arms be?

It sounds like you need stay chains and stabilizer bars. You can buy the stays on this site. The bars, perhaps on fleabay or you may need to get them made

What size are your tires? If your tires are too big you might consider a quick hitch or alter the 3pt hookup on the implement. They have replacement balls for the end of your lower 3ot arm, tractor supply has them, that you weld on. this may or may not give you the added length you need. I have a set of drawings to make the inner sway bars if you need them to make up a set but you would need the proper piece under the tractor at the drawbar.

Verify that you have check chains of the correct length installed to limit side to side movment of the lift arms.

Sway bars were originally supplied with your tractor to hold the lift bars in a centered position. These are unique to the row crop models and used ones are difficult to find.

You may need to fabricate brackets to use the ubiquitous utility model sway bars.

as long as he uses sway bars.. he should be fine. I have 14.9-28's onmy 950 and my 5' hogs NEVER touch tires.
