front end overhaul diagram/parts for NAA

I just bought this NAA 1953 and as I was taking her off my trailer I lost complete steering and almost fliped ....thank God I was slowly backing down the ramps and the incline was very shallow. I do not yet have a repair manual but recal seeing a ford tech instructional on overhaul but can not locate the reference on-line. Any one know?

if you could provide even some BASIC description of what it is doing / not doing.. we can help you.

those mechanical steering boxes are easy to R&R

will the steer wheel spin freely? will it pull up and out of the box? completely.. or only part way.

tires still aligned with each other.. IE.. right tire right, left tire right.. or do the tires both poit in / out and move independently

this will tell us if there is a ball nut, worm shaft or seotr gear involvement

The steering wheel spins freely without wheel movement. I can move the front wheels by hand independently of each other. I believe my thrust bearings, upper/lower bushings are worn on both sides . I can rock the steering arm back and forth detecting alot of slop inside of the axle extension.
The steering whe4el should have some type of load/spring which may be worn...dont have it apart yet

if both frot wheels will mover independently of each other.. then you have big issues.

that means fore and aft sector gears have no teeth to mesh and keep in time.

if steer wheel spins freely. ballnut may have come apart.. OR.. the afrore mentioned teeth came off the forward double sector.
