I have a TW-10 that I think heeds a hydraulic pump but not sure of any other issues. I was considering swapping the rear end out just to avoid other possible issues. I was curious what other tractors would have a compatible rear. I gather that Tw-20, 8700, and 9700 would interchange. Any others? I am considering swapping based on the amount of aluminum shavings found in the filters. Or am I better off using what I have? Thanks.

A TW20 would be a direct swap, but a 8700-9700, not so much. There are some detail differences between the two series that may create problems.

Myself, I would replace the pump, clean out the housing as best you can, and watch the filters close afterwards. I doubt the shavings harmed much else of the rear end. About the only thing I'd be looking at close is the oil cooler for plugging.
