961 power steering

Resealed power steering assist cylinder on 961, cannot get p/s to work now, pump works, lines correct, suspect adjustment of sensing mechanism, procedure, expierience, any info would be handy!

The "sensing mechanism" is the stud that the draglink connects to. There is a whole chapter on the Row Crop Power Steering System in the genuine Ford Tractor Shop Manual. I haven't worked on mine so I can't offer any suggestions other than the factory manual.

I would suspect that the part that the ball sits in that is supposed to be able to move back and forth is stuck. One way that this can happen is if a standard grease fitting is put in the under/ behind position. A standard fitting can penetrate too far and go tight against that piston part that they call a receiver.
