Low, deep whine in reverse

Any ideas what would cause a low, deep sounding whine while moving in reverse? If I take out the free play with the clutch pedal, it all but stops. No other operating issues. Just the noise. Only while in reverse. Early 4 cylinder 4000, 5 speed, live pto.

That's usually a worn bushing in the reverse idler gear. Very common. Pull the idler plate and gear and check it for wobble. Usually a new bushing will make it quiet again.
