Ford 725 vs 724

Does anyone know the difference in a 725 loader and a 724? Would one be preferred over the other for a '63-'64 4000 Industrial?

Thanks in advance.

I think the actual Ford product # is what determines which might be better. Not the model # which is more generic. 724, 725 and 730 loaders came in many variations. The 6 digit code is what tells you the specs. 724 came in versions 19-335, 19-336, 19-337, and 19-377. The models with the float position in the valve and double-acting lift cylinders are the best ones in my opinion. My 724 on my 1963 4000 Industrial can lift 2200 lbs. If it was the lesser model 724 with single-acting cylinders it would only have a 1600 lb. lift capacity. I've had the 724 and 730. Never had a 725 but have looked at a few and they looked the same as my 724.

Hello BHousch , The 724 Loader is the better of the two . The 724 is an Industrial Loader which replaced the older 720 Industrial loader . The 725 Loader is and Ag loader which replaced the older 703 Ag Loader . You would be very hard pressed to find either one of these loaders with single acting cylinders especially the Industrial loaders as Ford was doing away with single acting cylinder loaders due to lack of sales which only makes sense as they are just about useless . Thanks Tony Jacobs
