535 frame hydraulic plug leaking

Today was only the second time I started my 535 LTB (successor and nearly identical to 4500) and noticed a new leak coming from the [i:1b5b33f833]driver's side[/i:1b5b33f833] frame hydraulic plug. I'm pretty sure it wasn't leaking last year, but there is a decent size oil puddle where it was parked, in the area of the plug. I tried tightening it as much as I dared, but it's still leaking.

I'd like to know what I'm going to do before removing the plug, because I know from past experience that I'm going to get a high volume of oil shooting 5 feet away and it's going to make a mess, and I'll lose way more oil from removing the plug that I will from the leak. So, does anyone know what the problem is likely to be or how to fix it? I believe that the plug is part #191858, 81903566, or 273916, a 1-5/16/12 hex plug. I'll probably just try replacing it if there aren't any other ideas here. Thanks very much.

You can always take a hose off of a convenient cylinder and use the relevant valve to direct flow from the hose into 5 gallon pails until most of the oil is pumped out of the reservoir. The plug probably needs proper sealing, tape or dope if it's tapered pipe thread, or a new o-ring if it happens to be ORB.

I found an interesting website that shows exquisite detail about [u:f285ad5761]this part[/u:f285ad5761]. Here's a sample:
[code:1:f285ad5761]

It looks like it does have an O ring; must be too smashed to be visible. I think I'll just buy the whole plug for $9.07 through CNH. Thanks.[color=blue:f285ad5761][/color:f285ad5761]
