Ford 110D 2Cyl - 1973

Does anyone know where I can get manuals and or parts for my 73 1100D, 2 cylinder. Have keep it going for ten years with normal maintenance and "find a way mentality", but need info on the fuel system. All the manuals I can find are for the 3 cylinder ones made by New Holland. Any information and/or advice would be appreciated.

Theres a I&T manual on E-bay for $12.50 with free shipping with 3 hours left, just type in Ford 1000 and it should be in the list.

The 1000 was built from 73 to 78 and the 1100 was 79 to 82 and 1110 from 83 to 86. Which one do you have? All were 2 cylinder engines and the manuals can be ordered from a New Holland dealer or the on line parts store.

What do you need to know about the fuel system?

There are a few wise guys on this site who know that kind of stuff.

Sorry for the slow turn around- I have a 1973 Ford 1000
Model: A1012T
Serial Number: U100592
Shibaura 1.3L 2-cyl diesel
Engine: LE892-13392

I bought every manual I can find and they all relate to the later/New Holland's. The Ford Shop Manual starts with the Model 2000, the one ordered from Yesterday's is titled Ford Service Manual 1100 2 & 4 wheel Drive Diesel Compact Volumes 1&2. It does not cover mine.

My fuel problem is nothing is getting to the injectors. It has an electric fuel pump that was installed when the pump portion of combination Hydraulic/Fuel Pump failed five or six years ago. This has worked fine, but recently ran out of fuel and will not fire. I am getting fuel and pressure to the old assembly, buy no matter where I try and bleed, I get no fuel to the injectors.
Thanks for your replies.

If you have a picture, I would love to see, because I don't know of anything from the factory like that.

Do you mean it had a hydraulic oil pump that also is a fuel pump? That doesn't sound right at all.

There is no pump for the fuel system from the factory, except the injection pump. The diesel should gravity feed to the injection pump.

If you suspect the injection pump is going bad, you can give Long Lane a call and they should have a good used one. If you have a picture of the set-up you are talking about, I would love to see it.

I think he might be talking about an injector pump that had a lift pump built in, and the lift pump portion went south so they added an electric fuel pump to do the work of the lift pump, and it's been working like that for 5 or 6 years and now it's not.

If that's the case, then it sounds like the injector pump itself has stopped working, so I would pull the pump and take it to a good diesel pump shop. They should be able to rebuild it and you should be able to get rid of the electric pump and go back to the original configuration.

That makes more sense.

and yes, I agree. If one part of the pump went bad, it doesn't take long for the rest to go bad.
