My 841 that I"m selling developed a power steering
leak, which is coming out around the steering
wheel. Looked in the repair manual and see there is
a shaft seal on the steering shaft. Any tips or
suggestions on removal and replacing it?
Thanks

I just answered this a week or two ago but can't find it now.
I think I'll bookmark it this time and just post a link to it from now on.
You need to replace the upper seal in your column.
#44 in the diagram below.
You should also replace the lower seal too #28 or else it will fail soon enough and you'll be back in there.
I always put two new orings in it too. #32
You will need a manual to reinstall the spring washer and nut #42, #43 correctly.
You need to be careful when removing the hydraulic block as there are a bunch of plungers, springs and balls that will want to fall out.
It is NOT a difficult job.
Worst thing is you need to remove the tin and sometimes the steering wheel can be a bear.
New Holland part numbers are:
Upper seal: 83929295 ~ $14
Lower seal: 86531349 ~ $19
Oring: buy 2 1707280 ~ $4
I just call the dealer and have them sent in the mail so I have them before I start the job.
I recommend taking the hydraulic block apart and thouroughly cleaning it. They do get gunk and rust in them sometimes.
If you get into trouble putting the plungers, etc back in holler and we can help.
