does anyone know what a bush 2510, 540 10' drag would be worth in good shape. im in east texas. I have a guy wanting to sell me one.
thanks taz

Have you priced one lately?

New Woods MDS1260 (mounted) 10 1/2': $9,500+. Drag type a bit more.

Land Pride slightly less.

Second Tier brands, perhaps $5,000 - $6,000.

kodiak and howse less than 3000$ here. ( 2800$ )

there is a howse dealer the next city up.. it's where i got my 10 footer. kit will assemble as 3pt or drag type. When I bought mine a few ys ago.. it was right at 2400$ by the time tax hit it.. ( 2250$ etc.. )

Drive another hour north and there is a kodiak dealer. a lil more $.. and 3pt setup only.. but you can always leave the toplink off.

now them ones you mentioned are absolutely top tier.. same with a jd mx10 semi mount. big $$ on those.

heck.. you can get a howse 15' hog / copy of a flexwing for a bit more than the woods 10' you posted... that's scary!

I believe the farther north you drive.. the more stupid prices go... us people down here int he south are broke.. so they charge less.. :)

ps.. from howse/hico.. if you drop out of the hd cutters down to medium.. the price drops accordingly.

on ebay and machinery trader I found a woods for less than 4.. and a howse for 1890$.. both appeared lightly used.

i think they rip you northern guys off...

I shopped these recently in preparation for selling my MDS1260.

Looking at current tractorhouse (mag) now.

Land Pride RCF3610 $8,699, RCR2510 $6,299, Rhino, similar or a bit more.

The current issue does not have any Howse models but recent issues have. IIRC the low cost Howse 10" models were around $5,000+.

I bought a Woods BB840X HD 7" cutter (not the heaviest duty but, rather, the middle one) last fall for $3,890 (optional F & R chain shielding) when I bought my MF 2635, and thought that it was a pretty good deal. My preferred NH dealer, where I have very close contacts priced it about $300 higher.

Around here, onc cannot buy a Woods, BH or LP 6" cutter (except the low cost light duty models) for less than $3,000.

Prices of implements of all types have skyrocketed recently and continue to do so.

I know this wasnt your question but I would advise against a bush hog 2510. I have 1. I has some rubber lined couplers between the gearboxes to absorb shock. When'not if they fail they were $600.00 each at the dealer.

I stumbled across the Howse ad and I was a bit high on these.

2013 Howse HD10DA (drag) $4,195.

All prices are off season, in stock units at Ky and TN dealers.

and if you drop down out of the HD line.. the price drops into the high 2's and mid 3's.

they used to not make a medium and medium heavy 10'er but now they do.

I do not think they have a ld 10'er though.

howse uses soemthing similar. mine have never failed. however i did make a set for a buddy that had an old one. used horse stall matting.. worked great. 35$ for enough matting to make about 80 sets.. :)

Could be, but according to their website, the largest cutter offered in a series less expensive than the HD series is 8'.

Howse

bump out of medium and into medium heavy ( i know.. why a light, medium, medium heavy and a heavy line ??? )

in the medium heavy line they have a pull and 3pt 10' 2 ver of each. w/ chains, without chains.

spec without chains and you save up to 500$

I have a Bush Hog 2510 also and it also has a bad cross shaft clutch. A new one costs $875 from Germanbliss.com. How would one go about rebuilding it myself? I.E. I see by your post that you used a horse stall mat but what type of glue would you use?
