134 Engine backfire

I posted early about this tractor and got some good advise, however after trying them all I still have a problem, The engine is missing causing the backfire I think. Check compression #1-120, #2- 110 #3-110 #4-120 so I check the spark and this is what I found a good blue spark to each plug, jump about one half inch. Now when I pull #1 or #4 wire it will stop the engine running But if I pull #2 or #3 plug wire nothing happen has no affect on the engine. Spark plug
are almost new so I swap them around to make sure it wasn't bad plugs and I still have same problem.

All advise is welcome..........Thanks Larry

Are you sure you have the plug wires on the right plugs.? Firing order is 1 (front of engine) 2-4-3. Distributor turns clockwise. If the distributor is install into the block as per factory! Number 1 on the cap should be at about 8 o"clock, NO 2 at 10 o"clock, No 4 at 2 o"clock and 3 at 4 o"clock.

Wayne, I am thinking the same thing, 2 and 3 are swapped. It is pretty easy to get the firing order backwards.
