Is it possible that I bought a 600 series offset?

501 is the series. The 541 was an individual model within the series. The middle digit varied depending on what transmission, PTO and hydraulics options that it came with.

The 501 series was the offset chassis version of the 134 CI gas or 144 ci diesel row crop tractors. The non-offset row crop version with those sized engines was the 701 series, and the non-row crop ag chassis version was the 601 series.

The 541 was a 501 with the 4 seed transmission, 3 point lift and non-live PTO. The 4 speed was only available with the non-live PTO, so since it has a 4 speed in it now, it is a 541, and the only difference between it and any other model in the 501 series is that other specific models would have a different transmission and possibly different PTO options.

The parts site only shows the 4 speed and Select-O-Speed transmissions for the 501, so I would venture to guess that there were only the 541, 571 and 581 models available within that series, but I can't say for sure, as the parts site does list the 541 as a specific model, but it doesn't list the 571 or 581 models individually even though it does show the S-O-S trans with the single and dual speed PTO as being available for the 501 series.

Looks like a 501 offset to me. The front emblem was replaced. This is not uncommom. My 881 has the emblem off an NAA, which I think looks quite nice.
I see you have the cultivators with your new tractor. Everytime I see one for sale in my area, which is not that often, they don't have the cultivators.
Good luck with it and post some photos when you get it home.

Looks to be a 5x1 and, perhaps, a HC.

Never heard of a off set 600 but there was a 500 or 501 off set made. Only way to be 100% sure is look at the model number which is behind the starter below the battery

Great find.. these are rare around here. Looks like its all there. Have fun! Here's one I saw at the Tobacco Farm Life Museum in Kenly NC. This is just off I 95, and I know that all of you would love to take a walk through if you're in the area.

well my offset made it across the border and is home. When I get something so rare for this neck of the woods(Nova Scotia)I accept what I get, I bought it sight unseen. A couple questions maybe someone can help me with. The transmission has been swaped out and replaced with one from a 641, therefore my main id marks are gone, what other clue would there be to distingush between 501 and 541? I will post pics and more questions later.
