I bought a loader with a front mounted pump. I have all the parts but can"t figure out how to attach the coupler to the crakshaft pulley. The crankshaft nut is in the way. The nut is made for the starter handle. The id of the Hydraulic pump coupler hub. Part number 290421, is too small to fit over the nut. Can someone tell me how to connect the coupler hub to the pulley?? Thanks

Well #1 that crank handle type bolt has to come off and be replaced with a normal bolt. #2 you have to have the correct pulley with the hole that line up for the drive hub to bolt to. So you may find your in for a bit of hard work

1) Is there enough space to get a wrench in there and loosen the bolt?

2) Is it a normal thread or left hand thread.

3) Will a standard bolt work as replacement or do I need a special piece of Ford hardware?

Thanks,
Spud

Normal tread as in right is tight left is loose. Yes you maybe able to remove it but it is at best a tight fit. As for tread if I remember right it is fine thread

The rope in the spark plug hole did the trick. I used a large crescent wrench and a cheater bar to take off the ratchet nut. Now to find a regular nut as a replacement. Thanks for the help.

You might be surprised, when I went to take that front crankshaft nut off mine it wasn't really tight to where I had to use a cheater bar. I used a big wrench but I had alot of room because I had taken the front end apart to replace the front pivot pin at the same time.

Take the old one with you and match treads and how long it is and your good to go
