Hi,
now that the 640 is on its wheels again, I am turning my
attention to the 841 I just acquired. Needs lift cover overhaul,
but more importantly it stalls under load
Starts. Runs, but as you let out the clutch with a bush hog on the
back, it stalls. If you baby the clutch out slowly, it'll pick up rpms
and run, unless you hit a patch of heavy stuff and then it dies.
I will go through the fuel system this weekend and probably
service/overhaul the carburetor to eliminate that as a source f
trouble; it has become my habit now to tear down, clean, and
service the carb as the first or nearly first thing I do when I buy a
new tractor. I seem to like doing it.
I do not know how to test the governor, short of tearing it down,
too, which I do not wish to do unless absolutely necessary. Also,
this site does not list repair parts for the governor, and its about
$250 from CNH if available at all.
hints and suggestions welcomed.
