parts and pieces of two engines

I have an engine CONN-6015G ('62-'64 134ci, 4-cyl gasoline)that threw a rod so the block, crank shaft and one rod is damaged.

I found an engine 310905 that OldFordTractor.com states is a 134ci '58-'59 though the fella I bought it from and another guy says it's a 172ci so I'm not sure which it is.

I compared my head to the 310905 block, both are 7/16" bolts, but my head has 3 extra water jacket ports that the block doesn't (shown in the pic with the red stars around them).

Is this going to work?

Yep, that"s the way Ford built them. Three holes in the head, three holes in the gasket, but no holes in the block
For the average person that has no micrometer, take a tape and measurer the diameter of the pistons, A 134 engine should be not quite 3 1/2 inches across. A 172 engine should be not quite 4 inches in diameter. HTH

310905 is the casting number for a 1958/1959 134 block and 310609 is the casting number for a 1958/1959 172 block.
