Must I use ford M2C41 in my power steering fluid or is regular trans hyd fluid ok? How about regular automotive pwr steering fluid? The reason I ask is many new products have come along since these old tractors were born and can reduce the number of lubricants to stock. Thanks to all who read and respond to us shade tree mechs.

134D is the spec to look for - For PS, trans, rear axle (also works in straight hydraulics i.e. loader/backhoe, but may cost enough more to use different (cheaper) fluid there.

utf meeting the m2c134 spec, as mentioned.. can go in your rear/hyds, tranny, and power steering. 1 fluid to stock.

if you were just asking if you could use auto PS or atf to top off your ps.. then yeah.. just about any 10-30w oil will make the wheels turn...
