anyone have experience using a Ford 142, 2x16" plow?
good or bad, as I have not bought it yet.

thanks,

I know its off topic, but who would know ford plows better than Ford tractor owners.
Thanks,

Will be pulling them with a 1957 to-35 ferguson.

My friend who is a retired farmer said he never saw a two plow 142, he thinks they have been cut down from a 4 or 5 plow unit.

A good point I will have to ask about that because if I do not have the last plow furrow guide they may not work right. Also the crossbar may have larger size pins.

Maybe I need to look else where for a plow but I wanted 16" for the larger throat size.

good luck pulling that with a to-35 except in potting soil, pre-tilled and fluffy.. or foot thick beach sand.

try 1-16 for that tractor.. or 2-14

We used to pull a 3-14 with a 35 but in the 50s 5" deep was the norm. My pap used a Prince Albert can for checking plow depth.

my retired farmer friend thinks it's a cut down 4 or 5 bottom plow.

so, I am going to past on it

I found a 3x14 101 trip plow that maybe I can take the center plow off and have a later model trip ford plow 2x14 with plenty of beam clearance and I should be able to pull it ok.

anyone have one like this?

It won't work right, take off the back (rear) plow assembly, your tractor may be able to handle the weight then. I have a similar plow that has a Case sticker on it.
If it is still too heavy add weights to the front end.
