I finally got around to trying to start my dads 5000 that has been sitting for too many years. Went through checking out everything and had to loosen up the #4 plunger in the Simms pump to get it to move up and down which didn't take too much with PB Blaster but can't get any fuel to come out #3 on the pump. I got it all bleed and started but still no go on the 3rd line. Anyone out there mess with these pumps much and have an idea what I could do to try and get it working? Thanks in advance Greg NE

If your plunger is moving up and down, and the rack is free you might have a delivery valve frozen up. I have seen many simms pumps, and the most common problem is lack of lub. oil, then rust. The return springs are very prone to breaking and not pushing the plunger back down.If you cant get it right feel free to give me a call. 231/757/0064 I own a small pump shop. I NEVER charge for trying to help a guy out over the phone. I also live on a 5th gen. family farm,so I too have a love of old tractors and understand how hard the money comes to repair one.
