ford 2600 crankcase vent smoke

I recently noticed my 2600 diesel blows white smoke out of the crankcase vent when under heavy load ( running bush hog). What are the typical symptoms that might cause this? Thanks in advance.

Some smoke (blowby) is normal, and can look like a lot in the right sunlight. Don't jump to conclusions based only on what you see.

The most accurate way to tell if it is excessive is to run the engine on a dyno and monitor crankcase backpressure. If that is not an option, I would not worry too much if the engine starts well and has good power. On the other hand, if you can see or feel pulses out of the blowby tube, that is NOT a good sign.

I don't think I'd get too concerned about it. All Ford's have a fair amount of blow-by that can look like a lot in certain conditions...
I would say... if it's not losing any coolant and it's not burning much oil... and it starts and runs good... then you probably don't have a problem.
When they really get excessive blow... you're not going to be worried about if you have a problem. You're going to be choking on the stink.
