901 Ford hydraulics

I bought a 901 Ford it has a loader on it and is run off a PTO
pump. It has the valve under the seat with dual remotes can I
just use them to run my loader because the I think the PTO
pump is bad. The lift cylinders are power up and gravity down
would I just hook one hose up or do I need a special bleeder
valve for the other hose?

I'm not sure on plumbing the bleed down circuit, but the 3 point hydraulic pump generally has a lot lower flow rating than most loader pumps. It would definitely work, but it may be so slow as to be painful.

right now.. you say the loader is plumbed to a pto pump.. but not working?

is there fluid in the system?

pto running?

check that first.

now... this laoder has it's own valve bank? yes?

if so.. you COULD disconnet the pto pump IF it was bad, adn instead power the loader valve bank using a DA remote. IE.. pressure and return ports..

post back some details

Yes the pump is working but not very fast or powerful plenty of fluid . Yes there is a valve bank on the loader to run it as it is now.The pump has a leak the frame hydraulic tank has a leak in it. So I thought I could just use the hydraulic valve under the seat. It already has the handles and quick couplers connections . What I do not know is will one handle run the bucket and one handle run the loader up but since I only have hydraulic up will I just need to hook up the one hose and leave the other hose with nothing to it?

go back and slowly re-read my post.

you will only need one of your DA remotes to hookup to your loader valve bank, IN PLACE of your damaged pto pump.

just kick that remote open if it is a detent style.. or bunji cord it open. 'lift' on your underseat remote to in port on the loader valve. loader valve return to dump port on your underseat remote

Ok I can just hook it up that way but would it work the way I was asking about ? Can I run a single acting cylinder off the valve under the seat? Thanks

I would think that to be an option, although I've never had a double spool unit. Most Ford valves (single spool) for the 00, 01 and early 000 series tractors that I'm acquainted with had a screw assembly to change them from double to single acting operation or vice versa.

if it is a double spool under the seat.. 1 can likely be set as sa. if it is a single spool, it can likely be set as single acting. i say likely.. as there ar eplenty of makers of ford style valves and I havn't used ALL of them.

I hooked it all up like I was talking about and it works like a charm. Now I am just using the tractors hydraulics not a PTO pump so it frees my PTO up. Thanks
