stuck clutch

PTO clutch works, Traction Clutch will not release. The last time the tractor was run(maybe 2 months ago) the clutch was stuck buy I was able break it loose with some less than conventional maneuvers. I probably used the tractor 2 hours without problems. Yesterday, none of those tricks would work. Does anyone have experience or thought that i might try short of disassemble?

Get the tractor into a safe location and start it in gear. You will need to bypass the neutral safety switch to get it started. We can help with that if you don't know how.
Then take the tractor out and get it good and warm. Then drive it around with the clutch pushed in and try stomping real hard on the brakes several times.
That will usually free it up.
In the future you will want to block the clutch down when you park it. A board cut to length, C clamp or ratchet strap will do it.
If you can't get it unstuck by the method described you will need to split the tractor.

Thanks "Tractor Guru"

The brakes on this tractor are not too good, but I have tried this scheme. I could almost choke the tractor but could not get it to break loose. I had gotten it to break loose once before this way but did not think to tie or block the clutch when not using the tractor for a few weeks. I am tempted to find a big tree and back it into the tree with the clutch depressed. I really hate the thoughts of splitting this tractor at this time. anybody's thoughts would be welcomed at this time.

thanks all.

I would hook a brush mower to it and get the tractor good and hot first. Then try it.
From reading here there two possible causes of a sticking clutch. One is rust, the other is a leaking oil seal so that the clutch get oily and kinda glues the disc to the pressure plate. Getting the tractor hot would assist in freeing it up if it was caused by oil.
Good hard jolts are what to accomplish though.
If not via the brakes then some other way.
Drop the loader if it has one?
I kinda hate hitting trees though. Did that once and it wasn't very pretty. :)

Thanks for all the tips folks. it came loose after getting some brake cleaner between the pressure plate cover and the flywheel by removing the starter. I probably would never have thought that I would be able to gain any access this way had it not been for a post on the test forum.

Thanks to all.
